Our Teachers

 

Stevenson and Brigett Pangkey

Brigett and Stevenson Pangkey were married in April of 2004. They were looking for ways to share their life together and impact the community. They opened the Grand Terrace Academic Associates Learning Centers® in August of 2004. The business and their family have grown. The couple have two sons Skyler 5  and Colton 3.

Brigett completed her MA from California State University, San Bernardino in Curririculum and Instruction and is also a credentialed multiple subject teacher. She serves as CEO/President of Academic Associates Learning Centers in Grand Terrace & Marketing Director.

Stevenson, serves as the Logistical and Technical Coordinator, Human Resources Manager, and Reading Teacher. He received his BA in History from La Sierra University and was a substitute teacher in Colton Joint Unified School District.

Stevenson and Brigett are certified Irlen Screeners for Scotopic Sensitivity.

 

Alejandra Mendoza

Alejandra has her BA in Criminal Justice with a minor in sociology from California State University, San Bernardino. She returned to school last year to get an AS degree in Mathmetics from San Bernardino Valley College. Alejandra currently serves as the office manager of the Grand Terrace center. She also tutors in reading, alegebra, and works with our adult students who are prepping for their PSB enterance exams for nursing school. In her spare time she is also a substitute teacher in the Rialto Unified School District.

 

Tanya Rayfield

Tanya provides tutoring in  Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and geometry for junior high, high school and adult students. She also teaches the reading program and ESL to students of all ages. She works with our public school, private school and charter school students. She graduated with a BA in History from University of California, Riverside and received a secondary teaching crendential in social science from California State Univeristy, San Bernardino. Tanya is also a substitute teacher in the Moreno Valley Unified School District in her spare time.

Connie Hill

Connie brings 16 years of teaching experience to our learning center and is responsible for our new Early Literacy/Kinder program. This program is designed for children 4-5 who do not meet the cut-off age to enter school, are looking for a more highly academic pre-school setting or are home schooled and need assistance. Connie also teaches the reading program. She has her BS in elementary education with an endorsement in early childhood development from Southwestern Adventist University.
